The tax office announced today that they will be referring people who have overdue tax returns or BAS’s to Debt Collection Agencies, not to collect debts apparently but to chase them up to get their returns lodged. We haven’t seen the fine print on how this will work...

No more Refund cheques:

The ATO are advising that from 1 July 2013 it will no longer be issuing refund cheques to people. Instead it will only be refunding money via EFT bank transfer. Now that’s what I call good corporate social responsibility.
